The ‘Luca Pacioli’ Rapid Chess Tournament returns to Sansepolcro: this year, chess takes over the heart of the town
 
Sansepolcro is preparing to host a new event dedicated to chess with the “Luca Pacioli” Rapid Tournament, scheduled for Saturday 13 June 2026, from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm, with a major new feature characterising this edition: for the first time, the tournament will take place beneath the Logge of the Town Hall, right in the heart of the historic town centre
 
The initiative, organised by ASD Scacco Matto! under the patronage of the Municipality of Sansepolcro and strongly supported by the Department of Youth Policies, pays tribute to Fra Luca Pacioli, mathematician, religious figure and great scholar of the Renaissance, a figure deeply linked to the town and a symbol of ingenuity, knowledge and strategic thinking.
 
The tournament will be open to all and will consist of six rounds with a time control of 10’+5’’, offering a dynamic and engaging format designed for enthusiasts, experienced players and curious participants of all ages
