L'Intrepida

 
L'Intrepida is a non-competitive cycle ride that takes place on routes of varying types and difficulty, and follows specific rules regarding clothing and bicycles: the event is in fact reserved for vintage bikes (built before 1987), and clothing must be in keeping with the era.
 
Participants have the chance to cycle through one of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany, along roads steeped in charm and history. L’Intrepida takes place in the Tuscan Valtiberina, mainly within the municipality of Anghiari, but also passes through Monterchi, Sansepolcro, Caprese Michelangelo and Citerna, in the neighbouring region of Umbria. The ride follows the very same roads that, on 29 June 1440, were the scene of the battle later immortalised by the master Leonardo da Vinci: the Battle of Anghiari.
 
L'Intrepida, now a classic among vintage bike tours, is currently one of the main events, thanks to the beauty of the landscapes that frame the ride, the quality of the routes covered, the delicacies that can be enjoyed at the various refreshment points, the warm welcome and hospitality reserved for participants, and the friendly atmosphere that makes the whole weekend special.
