La Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista risalente al XIII è situata ai piedi del castello. La chiesa era in origine più lunga e più alta rispetto alla struttura attuale, che si presenta con tetto a due spioventi, una muratura a pietra irregolare e un campanile a vela che si innalza sulla facciata. Al suo interno sono conservati un tabernacolo per l’Olio Santo in pietra arenaria del XV secolo e un dipinto olio su tavola del San Giovannino, copia dell’opera di Raffaello, realizzata da un copista fiorentino tra la fine del XVI secolo e gli inizi del XVII, secondo alcuni critici Maniera di Ridolfo del Ghirlandaio. Nella chiesa è stato collocato anche un antico fonte battesimale in marmo del XIV secolo, per ricordare che qui il giorno 8 marzo del 1475 si svolse il battesimo di Michelangelo Buonarroti.
The church of San Giovanni Battista dating back to the XIII century is located at the foot of the castle. The church was originally longer and higher than the current building, which has a gabled roof, an irregular stone wall and a bell tower that rises on the facade. Inside the church there is a sandstone tabernacle for Holy Oil from the 15th century and an oil painting on panel representing young San Giovanni, a copy of Raphael's work, made by a Florentine copyist between the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 19th century. XVII, according to some critics, the Manner of Ridolfo del Ghirlandaio. An ancient 14th century marble baptismal font serves as a reminder that the baptism of Michelangelo Buonarroti took place here on 8 March 1475.
