The 24th edition of the Sansepolcro Football Derby is back!
The ‘Sansepolcro City Football Derby’ is a deeply felt and traditional football match played every year between two major districts of the town of Sansepolcro: Porta Romana and Porta Fiorentina, held at the Buitoni Municipal Stadium
It is not just about history, sport and good-natured rivalry between the town’s two great districts, but also – and above all, in some respects – a charity match. The festive spirit does not overshadow the spirit of solidarity in support of a resident of the district who is in particular need
For the 24th edition, Ivano Becci has been chosen; a former Bianconeri legend who is now 69 years old and has been battling a serious illness for some time. Donations should be placed in the designated collection box, which will be positioned at the stadium entrance, where a steward will be on hand
Also on Saturday 13th, club owner Fabio Chimenti and his team will pay tribute to one of the cornerstones of the derby who passed away far too soon: Stefano Vannini, head of Porta Fiorentina from 2022 to 2025, a role he fulfilled with dedication, professionalism, generosity and enthusiasm; his contribution was crucial to the success of the derby, which just a year ago had seen him celebrate the Viola’s triumph. An award in his memory will be presented to his wife and children
