Shared Spaces | Exhibition by Virginia Ryan
Opening Saturday 20 June, 6.00 pm – CasermArcheologica
From Saturday 20 June to Sunday 30 August
On Saturday 20 June, we will be opening an exhibition exploring community, encounters, migration and shared memories through the work of artist Virginia Ryan, who for many years has traversed diverse places and cultures, transforming listening and connection into artistic practice
On 20 June at 6.00 pm, CasermArcheologica opens Shared Spaces. Art, community, migration and memories in motion: a solo exhibition by Virginia Ryan, an Australian artist who has been conducting international research across Europe, Africa, India and Latin America for over forty years
Through textile works, installations, photographs and participatory projects, Virginia Ryan creates meeting places where individual stories intertwine with those of communities
Her works arise from listening, collaboration and shared experience, transforming art into a space capable of embracing memories, migration, identity and relationships
The exhibition brings together four major projects carried out across Italy, West Africa and the Mediterranean, inviting the public to reflect on the meaning of hospitality, belonging and coexistence in a world marked by constant movement and transformation
