The MUBEC (Woodcock Museum) is the first and only exhibition space in the world entirely dedicated to the woodcock, nicknamed the “Queen of the Forest”

In the heart of the splendid medieval village of Anghiari, on Via della Torre, stands the MUBEC (Woodcock Museum). Conceived by Paolo Pennacchini, the museum represents an unprecedented cultural initiative: a true bridge between the world of sustainable hunting and environmental conservation

MUBEC is a space where hunters, scientists, naturalists, and nature enthusiasts come together to protect, study, and celebrate one of the most fascinating and mysterious birds in our ecosystem

The Exhibition Tour: A Journey Through the Undergrowth

The exhibition is designed to offer an informative and immersive experience through various thematic areas:
  • Biology, Migration, and Habitat: Exhibition panels and exceptional scientific insights reveal the biological secrets, ethological mysteries, and incredible migratory routes of the species

  • Hunting Culture, Ethics, and Dog Breeding: A section dedicated to the evolution of the art of hunting and the importance of responsible hunting, based on deep respect for wildlife and an unbreakable bond with the world of dog breeding

  • The Grand Central Diorama: A striking, immersive area—enriched by the work of a renowned international illustrator—that faithfully recreates the forest environment, enveloping visitors in the woodcock’s natural habitat

  • Exclusive Bookshop: At the end of the visit, our bookshop offers the opportunity to purchase vintage prints, specialized books, and themed merchandise. Proceeds from sales directly contribute to the museum’s operations and research activities
