In August 1996, the extraordinary adventure of Tovaglia a Quadri began. A few weeks earlier, at the start of summer, a great artist—one little understood by the “times”—had passed away in the most deafening silence, leaving a human and cultural legacy within so many of us. His name was Vittorangelo Polverini; he was only 45 years old. In some ways, many elements of this year’s Tovaglia a Quadri are inspired by him. In these times of renewed uncertainty, gathering around the table and sharing positive messages is even more important. Messages like those left behind by Francis of Assisi, filled with a universal love that is a difficult legacy to carry on. Love and spirit, affection and sensuality surround the culinary offerings of the 31st edition of Tovaglia a Quadri.
 
The small exhibition, curated by Elena Merendelli, will feature previously unseen works of poignant beauty created by the great artist from Anghiari.
