Badia Tedalda

History and nature in the heart of the Apennines

The small village of Badia Tedalda is located in the heart of the Apennines, on the border with Marche and Emilia Romagna. Its origins probably date back to Roman times, when it was supposed to be a resting  point for travelers traveling along the Via Ariminensis, an ancient road that connected Arezzo with Rimini. The name derives from one of the two Benedictine abbeys that stood there in the Middle Ages, called the Tedaldi. Today Badia Tedalda is the capital of the Alpe della Luna Nature Reserve and its territory offers endless possibilities to experience nature, from hiking to harvesting products from the undergrowth.
