A gesture leaves a trace; a trace continues to resonate. This image forms the basis of ‘The Echo of a Heartbeat’, Giulio Giustini’s solo exhibition, which opens at CasermArcheologica on Saturday 31 October at 6.00 pm
 
A return to Sansepolcro, the area where the artist grew up, twelve years on from his participation in the group exhibition ‘Art Quartet’. Since 2015, Giustini has lived and worked in Berlin, where his artistic practice has evolved through the interplay between his visual memories of the Valtiberina and the influences of the German metropolis
 
The exhibition layout recreates the atmosphere of the artist’s studio and establishes a dialogue between CasermArcheologica and Berlin’s Kunstfabrik HB55: two venues born out of the regeneration of disused spaces, now transformed into centres of cultural production and new opportunities for encounter
 
An exhibition that weaves together places, memories and transformations, allowing the traces of what continues to live on and generate new forms to emerge
