The Kilowatt Festival, organised by the CapoTrave/Kilowatt association under the direction of Lucia Franchi and Luca Ricci, is a multidisciplinary festival of theatre, dance, circus and music which, over the years, has become a permanent forum for dialogue and experimentation on an international level.
We are delighted to announce the dates for the Kilowatt Festival, which will take place from 17 to 25 July 2026 in Sansepolcro (AR) - 9 days of live performances, including theatre, dance and music.
 
Here’s a first look at the 24th edition!
 
102 public events (49 free or costing less than €3) and 77 repeat performances. There are 51 theatre and dance performances, 8 of which explore the world of digital creation. Added to these are 9 concerts and as many night-time DJ sets. No fewer than 27 shows are previews, national premieres or world premieres, not to mention that numerous other shows are coming to Kilowatt as new productions, on their second or third run
 
The patrons of this edition, Eugenio Barba and Julia Varley, will be in Sansepolcro from 17 to 19 July for talks, exhibitions and unique, special events
 
The ‘Visionari’ selection will not be missing, the participatory format which this year celebrates 20 years of activity.
 
The European and national dimensions are being strengthened: thanks to the European cooperation project @digitalonstage_project, 8 digital performances will be presented and meetings and discussions dedicated to the new trajectories of contemporary creation will take place.
 
Alongside this programme, Kilowatt will host a public event organised by CoOpera, another project co-funded by the European Union, of which Kilowatt is a partner. This project reimagines participatory practices through musical theatre, performance and the visual arts
 
Furthermore, in collaboration with @fts.toscana Spettacolo and @residenzeartistichetoscane, the festival will host the final showcase of the Toscana Terra Accogliente network project, and, in collaboration with @ottopermille_sokagakkai, the debut performances of the winning shows from the Giovane Danza Italiana project will be presented
