The Project and the Residency
Starting September 26, CasermArcheologica (Sansepolcro) is hosting Sardinian artists Daniela Frongia and Salvatore Delogu for a residency. The project stems from a collaboration with the Fondazione Stazione dell’Arte in Ulassai to connect two organizations focused on public, participatory, and relational art, in the spirit of Maria Lai’s poetic legacy. During their residency, the two artists are developing site-specific works connected to the history, spaces, and community of Sansepolcro.
The Artists Involved
Daniela Frongia: works with thread, weaving, and textile arts, transforming artisanal techniques into sculptural and environmental structures based on time and repeated gestures.
Salvatore Delogu: a sculptor who uses iron, earth, and concrete to explore the physical and narrative dimensions of matter, depicting transformations and places.
WHEN
Saturday, October 10, 2026
5:00 p.m. – Public talk with Marco Peri (Director of the Stazione dell’Arte Foundation in Ulassai) titled “The Stories of the Distracted God.” The talk offers an imaginative interpretation of Maria Lai’s artist’s book, exploring the connection between art, the local area, and the community.
6:00 p.m. – Opening of the exhibition “From Ulassai to Sansepolcro: Art and Connection” which features works created during the artist residency.
