THE ARMED MAN: A MASS FOR PEACE

“The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace” is a contemporary symphonic-choral work composed by the Welsh musician Karl Jenkins in 2000. It was originally commissioned by the Royal Armouries Museum for the Millennium celebrations and dedicated specifically to the victims of the Kosovo crisis.
The work is structured as a powerful anti-war manifesto and is divided into 13 movements that trace a clear narrative arc: the preparation for battle, the descent into the abyss of conflict, and, finally, the overcoming of pain toward a hope for global harmony.
