The 30th National Exhibition of Chianina Breed Farms returns – the event celebrating the excellence of Italian semi-wild and free-range farming, registered with the Breed Register, of one of the world’s most prized breeds, a symbol of ‘Made in Italy’: the Chianina
 
THE PROGRAMME:
 

Monday 28 September

• 07:00 – 09:00: Arrival and settling in of animals
• 09:30: Opening of the Antica Fiera del Ranco exhibition
• 10:00: Judging competition between agricultural and vocational colleges. Followed by: the competition prize-giving ceremony and presentation of the ‘Pietro FERRI MARINI’ Trophy
• 10.30: Institutional meeting
• 12.30: ‘Chianina a tavola’ lunch
• 14.30: Start of the judging process
• 15.00: Tree climbing demonstration (techniques for managing the canopies of medium and large trees)

 

Tuesday 29 September

• 09:00: Exhibition opens
• 10:00: Photography exhibition: “30 Years of the National Exhibition of Chianina Breed Herds in a semi-wild state and free-range systems registered with the L.G. – History of transhumance”
• 11:00: Auction of calves for rearing
• 12.30–13.00: Show awards ceremony and presentation of trophies (Mario CASINI, Silvio DATTI, Libero FERRI MARINI). Award for ‘Best Animal in the Show’
• 13.00: ‘Showcasing the Chianina on the table’
• 15.00: End of proceedings

 
On 28 and 29 September, the traditional ‘Torelli Selezionati’ market will also take place, where you can buy or sell high-quality garments
