The traditional and much-loved Blackthorn Festival is celebrating its 22nd anniversary!
 
At the event in Pieve Santo Stefano, the blackthorn mushroom takes centre stage in the many dishes prepared by volunteers from the Pro Loco association; it is a typical delicacy of the woodlands of the Upper Tiber Valley and the Valtiberina region. In addition to dishes featuring blackthorn mushrooms, visitors can sample another local speciality from Pieve: potato tortelli cooked on a hot stone
